I was shocked when I read this in the RSPCA website: live cats and dogs are being use as live bait for shark fishing!!! What is wrong with this people?!?! It made me sick to my stomach.

Please visit their website and sign the petition, no living being deserves to be put through something like this or any form of cruelty.

I agree that it is sick, but it is a matter of perception. If you were a shark, how would you like people considering it a sport to catch and butcher you?

Well, back in the day, and by that I mean 9th grade, I watched a movie on cruelty to animals. It showed things like a goat being chucked out of a window in Spain as part of some festival, cats having their skin boiled off and somehow staying alive, and many other such things. As long as the cats/dogs weren't originally pets, I don't see a huge problem with it.

You're right mate, I don't really consider you a friend of mine so I might as well toss you in for the sharks to tear violently apart as well, right? I mean, I might as well just bind your legs and hammer a large hook right through your face so you can dangle helplessly while your intestines rapidly spill out into the ocean as if we were adding gallons of red dye into the sea, right?

Honestly, you've issues if you don't think tossing dogs and cats in for the sharks dangling by hooks in their faces is cruel.

Doing this with live animals is unjusifiably cruel, no matter how you spin it. At least have the 'decency' to kill the animal before doing that. Considering that there are different views in different cultures, doing this with a dead animal would be less cause for outrage (akin to cows at the slaughter for beef).

I dont know how those people can live with themselves, seeing something in continuous pain like that.
